As if the results are not already shockingly bad, the data released by West African Examinations Council — WAEC (credit passes) is missing around 5000 candidates — over a third of the total number. What happened to these candidates? Did they get zero credits from all their subjects? Is this a discrepancy from WAEC’s end? Or something else?

There is not a time to start complaining, it’s not all the kids fault. It’s time for action. There are many issues and one way to start addressing them is to take a look at the data: Are there certain schools/regions performing poorly when compared to others? Which subjects are the students under-performing in? I’m sure there are more questions to ask and WAEC has the data.

How can YOU help out:

➡️ Support the kids that failed, help get them back on track.

➡️ Mentor the incoming Grade 10, 11, and 12 students. There’s one in your family, neighborhood, or Alma mater.

➡️ Speak out, express your outrage to the relevant stakeholders: MoBSE, school principals, teachers and others.
